Fisher-Price has managed to combine the cozy comfort of their Papasan infant seats with the functionality of a cradle swing. Strap baby into the swing with the padded three point harness. The two reclining positions allow for playtime or naptime. When it's time for play, clip on the snack tray with bead bars and play eight different happy tunes while the star mobile bobs up and down and around. When it's time for rest, remove the snack tray and start the swinging. The soothing six-speed cradle swing will rock in the traditional fashion from left to right, or spin the cradle 90 degrees and it will rock front to back. Eight new lullabies will play and the cradle projects a spinning star-scape onto the canopy to have baby minutes from slumber. The nicest feature is that it allows for any iteration of motion, music, and mobile movement. It can be plugged in or run on four D batteries (it is recommended using AC power). The seat pad is removable and machine-washable, and the recommended age is birth and up with a maximum of 25 pounds. --Scott Teal

POOR DESIGN, I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS August 28, 2008 What a disappointment! 1. The swing is unstable, it moves from all his joints. My baby is about 10 lbs. The swing's feet are lifting from the ground when it's on (on the lowest speed). The design is poorly thought: the seat is positioned too high above ground, making the swing unstable!!!! 2. The baby doesn't like side to side movement (cradle movement). 3. It's not quiet (as I read in other reviews). It's not very loud either, but for sure not quiet (compared to Graco swing my first baby had). 4. The chair is not adjustable!!! (The Graco swing I had for my first child had three positions adjustable seat!). So the child can't just sit in the chair to look around (as my first child did in a basic Graco swing). 5. The chair is not comfortable and the pillow doesn't come off! 6. It is difficult to take the child from the swing because the distance to the toy above is too short!!! Hate it! 7. The music stops too soon (a few minutes). Anyhow the music, sounds, toy features are unimpressive (even to a small baby).
A positive thing: my baby likes the mirror (but he used the swing for a short time, he may get bored of it).
This is a short list because I've just received it yesterday. A lesson I seem to never learn: the simple, basic models are the best!!!!
AWESOME SWING! August 27, 2008 This swing is absolutely awesome and cute. The baby loves it and I even get so many compliments on it. It's a lifesaver, I use it more than the playpen. I LOVE IT!!!
Fisher-Price Papasan Cradle Swing - Nature's Touch August 26, 2008 I bought this as a gift for my new nephew. He is now 1 month old and LOVES this swing. It soothes him and keeps him occupied when his parents need some time to sit a relax for a few moments. I think this is a MUST BUY for all new parents.
Love it August 26, 2008 I love this swing, and so does my daughter. She sits and grins at herself in the mirror, and smiles at the leaves and birds that spin. It is perfect, because it puts her right to sleep, and then after 20 minutes, the music stops, and the birds stop circling to keep from waking her up.
Glad I bought the swing. August 23, 2008 I am glad I bought this swing. For many months I looked at all kinds of swings and the feedback they all received, then I finally settled on buying this one. Im glad I did, my son loves it and it really helped when he was fighting sleep, he couldn't help but to give in to the swinging and the music. Even when he was just fussy I would try the swing to see if it would help and it did very often. He loves watching himself in the mirror and watching the little bugs twirl around and go in circles around the mirror. The only con I have noticed is that the legs have to be in the perfect position to get the best swing motion, but really that was just adjusting the stand here and there and then it would swing perfectly. Like any parent I like to see my child happy, and to me the swing is worth every cent, and that is important too.
