Product Description This Asian edition is an adaptation of the widely-used Accounting, 20/e by Warren, Reeve and Fess. It has been adapted by lecturers who have many years of experience teaching accounting. The book is tailored for a first year course on basic accounting principles. It is written from a sole proprietorship perspective, and covers the complete accounting cycle and important accounting areas like cash, receivables, inventories and fixed assets. Local accounting practices are taught in this text. Local businesses have also been included in the text as students can relate better to them. In addition the text has been written so that Asian students will find it easy to read and understand.

Good introduction to accounting November 19, 2008 Sandman
The book does a good job of exploring the basics of accounting. It explains concepts by demonstrating the use of a manual accounting system. The examples are well thought out and easy to understand. Computerized accounting systems are discussed only briefly. The Excel templates downloaded from the companion website are an excellent resource. They lead you through the preparation of various ledgers, forms and reports. The templates include validation of the user's entries, so you receive immediate feedback when something is entered wrong. If you use the templates to complete the exercises at the end of each chapter, you literally can't go wrong. The table of contents is rather hard to read. It employs lots of different fonts and colors which make it difficult to find the chapter or topic you are looking for. The actual book itself uses a lot of graphics, almost to the point where the pages themselves are too noisy. Nevertheless, many of the graphics are helpful and make up for the "graphic noise" on every page.

This was the first time I purchased a book on-line (amazon.com). It was a very smooth transaction. The book was in excellent condition and the price was great. I was even assured by the seller that I would have the book in time for my class.
