4 out of 5 stars My favorite mouse   October 18, 2008
I have two of these, so I can have one at home and work. I'm now buying a third one to go on my Mac. What I love about this mouse is the shape. It fits my hand perfectly. Some may find it a little too wide, but the width is what I like. Many mice are too narrow and I can't hold them or point with them comfortably. The only downside the this mouse is that it has a fairly short range of about two feet. I have the receiver mounted under my desktop at home and right next to the monitor at work, to ensure it is always in range to function. Not a big deal as long as you have a convenient place for it.

Both of mine get daily usage and I find I replace the batteries about every 4 to 6 months. I can still get a week of use after the low battery warning comes on.

4 out of 5 stars I've Been Very Satisfied   September 25, 2008
I've used my LX5 for a couple of years now, and it's been nearly perfect. Batteries last an amazingly long time. The battery compartment cover is a mite tricky to snap back in place after battery replacement.

I wonder if some of the complaints regarding a skittery pointer, etc. might be because those users are not aware of the customizing that can be done to the pointer using the following steps:

Click on START
Click on SETTINGS
Click on CONTROL PANEL
Click on PRINTERS AND OTHER HARDWARE
Click on MOUSE

Now search thru the several tabs at top that will lead you to various options for controlling your pointer. I hope this will help some owners.

2 out of 5 stars Needs a mousepad   July 19, 2008
Upon using it, it mouse is....jumpy; it stutters enough to be incredibly frustrating. When you use a mousepad, it works great. I just can't stand mousepads, though. I'll give it a bit more time, but I think I'll be returning this one.

5 out of 5 stars Great Mouse   May 27, 2008
This is a great mouse. I like best that I have operated it for over 3 months on 1 (yes, I said "one") rechargeable (! NiMH) battery without having to recharge it. (However, I use it only a few hours each week.) It was too heavy with 2 AA batteries, so I decided to try 1 (once I saw that it activated when installing the first battery). I never even turned the thing off (which you can with a button on the underside).

Logitech obviously puts a great deal of thought into the engineering of their products. For example, it ran even with the single battery voltage under 1 volt. Also, there's an LED on the bottom that lights up only when it's not on a surface (I guess to report that it is in fact working). I appreciate the attention to such detail.

1 out of 5 stars Sluggish mouse   May 12, 2008
I liked how the antenna of the mouse reached from my computer on the floor up to the desk, but it turned out that the mouse was very sluggish anyway. I'd click the mouse button and the cursor on the screen would pause before responding. I tried moving the antenna really close to the mouse, and reconnecting it, but nothing helped the sluggishness, so I returned the product. Not recommended.
