Amazon.com If you were around in the `70s, the words "curling iron" may bring back haunting memories of big complicated hairdos and Farrah-Fawcett wings. But times have changed and curling irons are now low-fuss and gentler on hair than they were in the past. This Satin Finish model has a ceramic-coated barrel, which distributes heat evenly without creating frizz or hair damage like the curling irons of the earlier years. The ceramic technology also prevents the curling iron from sticking to hair and even promotes silky, shiny hair.
For quick styling, the Satin Finish instantly heats up 60 seconds after powering up and offers 30 different heat settings on its adjustable dial to accommodate all hair types. To create consistently perfect curls, the curling iron employs a feature called the Uniform Heat Recovery System. This system transfers heat from the barrel to hair during curling, causing the barrel to cool down slightly, and then resumes its former temperature before you curl the next section of hair.
The 1-1/4-inch barrel on this curling iron is a wider size that can curl hair under, flip ends up, or create loose curls. For safety, this curling appliance has a heat-resistant shield that slides over the barrel while it's heating up or for storage. Other safety precautions include a cool tip on the end of the barrel; a built-in stand to raise the curler off the countertop; a power light; and a 6-inch tangle-free, swiveling cord. Conair provides a two-year limited warranty on its Satin Finish curling irons. --Cristina Vaamonde

Great Curling IronNovember 6, 2007 I bought this to replace this $20 Vidal Sassoon gold plated one and this one is SOOO much better. My curls fell out very soon after I used the vidal sassoon one even if I used hair products. I have thick Asian hair so that might have been another reason why my curls never stay. But with this curling iron I can sleep on my curls and my hair still stays relatively curly the next morning. The 1 1/4 creates beautiful curls too.
Best Curling Iron I ever ownedOctober 28, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Im back here 20 months after I bought this, because it broke and I want another one. This sucker heats up fast and I love that feature. Just don't let this touch your head, ( as I did several times, oooh that is painful and takes awhile to heal) I used the top heat setting but it is adjustable. I have fine limp hair and this would curl it and hold. Very hard to find for me. Im getting another one, even though Im paying more this time.

To tell you the truth i ordered it but i wasn't really convinced it was going to work because i have bought so many styling products and non of them ever really worked, so when i got the conair curling iron and tried it i was amazed with the results my hair looked exactly as if my hairdresser did it and the curls lasted for three days, so i recommend this for every girl out there, ENJOY !
Good StarterFebruary 28, 2006 This was the first ceramic iron I used. Good for first timers since it is inexpensive and does a nice job. It doesn't get as hot as some, and doesn't heat any faster than a regular iron.
