Customer Reviews Be careful of buying this otherwise great product through Amazon July 4, 2008 Rapunzel (Everywhere) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off, let me preface this by saying that this is normally a great product. My kids love this cereal. However, I will never order this through Amazon, again. Why? B/c when I did order it, every single box's bag has a small area at the bottom where the bag is sealed shut (in the tri-fold area) where there was a small opening. This opening meant that critters could get in. So could regular air, making all the cereal stale. I noticed it when the normally "poofy" aspect of the 1st bag was missing. I opened all 5 other boxes to note the same thing. Then, I checked the bags to see where an opening could be. It was in the same spot on each bag. That tells me two things: (a) Amazon gets their good prices from companies who sell their lower quality items - items with some type of hiccup or problem in order to recoup some of their money back; (b) I'm not too happy with New Morning brand, either. It means that they were willing to let a low quality (and potentially health endangering) product be sold to consumers just to make an extra buck. There's no doubt that New Morning should have tossed this "lot" in their QC checks. By the same token, Amazon needs to be more wary of their purchases that they intend to re-sell! Prior to this, I'd *never* had a QC problem with Amazon. Then in the same order (I'd ordered some organic sweet potatoes that had a serious health hazard problem - see my other review), I'd received two items that were supposed to be edible and b/c of their problems, definitely were NOT edible. Eeeich. Lastly, I still order some things from Amazon's "subscribe and save" and/or general "grocery" items. They just aren't edible stuff, and while some of those have some visible quality hiccups, they aren't enough for me to warrant a complete withdrawal of ordering from Amazon. I just urge you to use discernment as you make your purchases, here.

My son has a corn allergy which makes it very difficult to find things for him to eat! The Oatios were great, he loves them!
Oatios - Best Kept Secret in the Cereal World July 27, 2007 Pistolpeter (Vermont, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been eating Oatios religiously for about 10 years now. I would say I have it 5-6 times a week on average. It's a great tasting, reasonably nutritious alternative that works in a bowl with milk (dairy or soy), preferably with raisins and banana slices, or just as a dry snack. I often mix it with another organic cereal as well, and take it with me when I travel. It's an especially good alternative to airplane food. It tends to be a bit pricy, but my purchase through Amazon was probably the best deal I've ever gotten. I ended up with 1 1/2 cases of the 15 oz. size and 1 case of the smaller size. I recommend it highly.
Better than Cheerios!! July 17, 2007 J. Heromin (Harrisburg, Penna.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this Cereal and have been getting it at my local Health Store for years until they went out of business. I was so happy to find that Amazon.com carried it. It is in my opinion so much better than Cheerios but still tastes like them. I make snacks with them with like putting some Virgin Coconut Oil and Ghee or Organic Butter in a pan and putting in Oatios, little Oat Bran Pretzels, Pumpkin Seeds, dried Basil, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder and Parmesan Cheese...use your imagination and make it with the things you like. It's a wonderful healthy snack that I make once a week. I'm so glad that I can still get it because of Amazon.com
