UnreliableSeptember 5, 2008 I have been through about 20 DVDs out of this spindle of 50 and NOT A SINGLE ONE has worked for me yet! How do I know that the problem is with the disks and not my equipment? When I got frustrated enough to go out and buy another brand's DVD+R DL disks, I was able to burn on them easily and reliably...every time. I will not name the brand because I am not trying to advertise for them. My purpose is only to warn the perspective buyer of these Memorex DVD+R DL disks that if you purchase them, you are literally risking throwing your money in the garbage. That is not even considering the wasted time and frustration that you may experience if you receive a batch similar to the one I have. Needless to say, I will NEVER purchase Memorex DVD+R DL disks again!
Cheap price for cheap DVDs (as close to garbage as it comes)September 4, 2008 I got these DVDs yesterday and tried burning a recording to this media like I have on numerous occasions. Four out of four of these coasters failed with media write errors (Bad media). I bought two of these spindles. I put my four coasters back on the one spindle I opened. I didn't even bother opening up the second spindle I bought. I then requested Amazon to refund my money due to "product defective". Hopefully, Amazon will stand behind their product sold and refund my money. I have used Memorex DVD+R DL DVDs before and they have worked very well, but something has changed drastically. I even noticed that when these started burning they were at a much, much slower speed than my previous Memorex Dual-Layer DVDs that I believe were rated at the same speed. In any event, Memorex must not care how they trash their brand name. I don't trust them at this point. They are cheap, but you get what you pay for (maybe some more garbage product from China). They might as well give these away. I noticed the price fell several dollars since I bought them. Maybe they figure they might need to keep slashing to sell these (for obvious reasons).
Memorex dual layer DVDsAugust 29, 2008 Unfortunately, these DVDs didn't work very well for me. I have used Memorex DVDs in the past and they have always been great. This time, I ordered dual layer DVDs and they wouldn't work in either my computer or my dvd burner. I just think I got a bad batch.
None of them worked!August 28, 2008 Well, none of the disks worked. I tried them in several different computers, some did not recognize the disk at all, others did but always failed to burn. I should have trusted the other reviews.
Memorex should be embarrassedAugust 27, 2008 I cannot burn a good disc at 8x. I get stuttering, artifacts, and freezes -- completely unacceptable. However, if I cut the burn speed down to 4x or under, they work OK: hence the 2 stars. If you burn from an .iso source, I recommend IMGburn (freeware). It has more burn speed choices than any other I've seen.
