It's basically a comb with cutting edges between the teeth. Great item if you use it regularily -*REGULARILY* is key- on double-coated (long or short hair) cats.
NOT good (at all!) for single-coat long hair cats.
DE SHEDDERNovember 26, 2008 This tool helped me groom my senior cats. As the cats have gotten older, they are no longer able to groom themselves as well as when they were younger. I could brush them and remove the fur without tugging on the skin. They tolerated the deshedding!!

I have a medium hair cat..but his hair is really very long and thick. He used to shed all over my house and all the time. When I received the furminator, I was very surprised with how good it worked. Although, it didn't do exactly all that I wanted it to do, it really helps with the shedding and it was much easier to use. My cat doesn't like to be groomed, but he sat for this treatment.

A great grooming toolNovember 25, 2008 I like this tool much better than other grooming combs and brushes... my cat loves it- he ALMOST stands still while I am brushing him- he usually wonders around and I have to follow him when I am combing him! He purrs for this too! The other day he pawed it off the shelf were I store it- I think he wanted me to use it on him!
