Customer Reviews Read 12 more reviews... Great game December 31, 2008 M. Mills (USA)
This is a great game. Beautiful game world. It runs smoothly on my rig. Even near waterfalls. The controls are a bit different, but not overly hard to learn. All in all a fantastic game experience. Well worth the money.
Mediocre: No More, No Less December 15, 2008 kittygalore (Harbor City, CA United States)
The one good thing about this game is that there's nothing extraordinarily, game-breakingly bad about it. Combat works, though basically what it boils down to is pressing one or two buttons over and over again (attack and, depending on your style, dodge). Story? As you have been in almost every other CRPG known to man, you are the Chosen One, and you have to save the world. Granted, it isn't exactly a boring story, but it's nothing you can't predict every step of the way. Companions? They're actually rather well-written, a fact that's almost completely crippled by game mechanics. Were you hoping for conversations between your companions as you make your way through the surprisingly tiny (two playable towns, plus the beginning and ending stages)? Too bad; you can only take one of them with you at a time. Romances? Yes, they exist, but barely. (The same-sex romances might as well not be there at all; the one I played through had exactly four dialogues.) Enjoy the rather sparse quest-based banter and short list of "friendship" conversations- that's pretty much all you're going to get. And yes, the setting is unique... but there's very little of it to explore. Even fans of the game must admit that the game is extremely short. If you prefer the action part of an action-RPG (especially if you're a fan of Fable), this just might be your game; disregard all my reasons for disliking it. In any case, there are worse ways to spend ten dollars. But don't let anyone tell you this is one of the best RPGs ever made. At best (and at worst) it achieves mediocrity.
A rare Wu Xia RPG December 1, 2008 Grand Theft Ming Dynasty (New York City, NY USA)
Taking a look at my signature you know I like Chinese Wu Xia movies and novels. And this is the perfect RPG game for Wu Xia fans like me. It's a game with beautiful scenes, handsome actors, and interesting plots that all RPG gamers will certainly love. Another classic RPG from Bioware.
Great Storyline November 26, 2008 Debra (Cobbtown, GA United States)
I just finished this game, and what a pleasant suprise it was. I was a little bored through the first chapter, then all of the sudden, I began to realize what a wonderful story this was. I've become so acoustomed to playing RPG's with weak story lines, that I had forgotten what it felt like to get engrossed in one that played out like a good movie. Although it's strong point is the supurb story, this game doesn't have too many faults. The Controls are intuitive, combat is interesting, music is great and the graphics are quite acceptable. If you are trying to run this game on Vista, remember to R-click on the icon and run as administrator, in order to load your save games. Don't miss this great, fun game.
Great RPG October 30, 2008 E. BARRAZA
The actors in this game are by far the best I've seen, a great RPG and the price is so low the game is so worth it to buy.
