great for home pc / laptop backupSeptember 29, 2008 I got this from a local PC store here in the Philippines... all I can say it met my expectations to be my primary back-up of all our PC / Laptops. Out of the box it worked flawlessly and been detected by all our computers even the oldest Pentium 3 computer.
The only thing I don't like about this external drive is that it is a fingerprint magnet... a very minor negative aspect that are being overshadowed by its ease of use.
I will definitely by another one of this product to be use as my primary backup for my Asus eeepc netbook

Terrible. I bought for my mother and not only do you have to buy the software after purchasing the hardware but it is terrible software and a cheap external hard drive.
Avoid and instead check out Seagate's FreeAgentPro.

Excelent style, very nice model, discret. but a little slow, if you want to backup a large acount of files, it can be doing that for days. but is not a component failure, its the USB 2.0 speed. Actually its a good purchase I will go for the second one.
