Excellent - unbelievable priceNovember 10, 2008 Too good a price to be true? I decided to try it and see. The hoist I received (very quickly) is the same as the one I bought from Performance Bike (a local bike shop with an Internet presence) years ago, for much more money. High quality.
The picture they use shows the rack incorrectly installed, not using the rear wheel pulley. In use it is the same as the other products shown when browsing Amazon.
This is my 2nd hoist style rack, so I already knew what I was doing during installation. Other than having to work over my head (which I do not like) installation was easy. After measuring and marking where the screws are to go, I pilot drill the screw holes.
I always have some spare old inner tube around, so I wrapped a small piece (about 1 inch by 1 inch) around the rope where it is tied off at one end of the hoist and fed through the metal plate. Not needed, but I feel more comfortable that the rope is not being chafed there, now.
An excellent product at an incredible price. What a concept!
