The dewalt had lasted almost ten years so I said why not get the next model up..After getting home I looked at the old sander again and said,"all it needs is a new pad." I've had this random orbit sander for about 10 years now, and after years of hard use on everything from sanding the reproduction Stickley furniture I make, to smoothing my amateur plastering patches in my 1920s house, the pad finally failed. This new pad is an exact replacement and restored my DW421 to top working condition!

Dewalt Replacement sannder pad fits and works perfectly. I thought the price was a bit high but other then that I am pleased.

For this type of item, you'd think it would be easy to find at your local hardware store - not so! Amazon to the rescue... All I had to do was type in the model number of the tool I was looking to get replacement parts for and I was met with a number of great options. A fair price and fast shipping - all around good experience.
