Wonderful first-hand account of the Klondike Gold RushNovember 14, 1999 A collection of turn-of-the-century newspaper columns byStroller White, "Klondike Newsman" vividly recaptures whatit was like to be in bustling Northern towns like Skagway and Dawson City around the time of the Gold Rush. White's columns are both funny and historically valuable. A real treat and a pleasant surprise. The only reason I don't give this book 5 stars is because the editors do not do a good enough job of placing White and his writings in historical perspective. All in all, though, I wholeheartedly recommend this book.
